Product Description
Silway 714 water repellent is a water-dilutable solution of potassium methyl siliconate. It is a basic water solution mainly composed of potassium and methyl silica gel, which can react with CO2 or other acid compounds in the air to form the active substance polymethylsilicic acid to produce waterproof property.
The product should be diluted with water when used. It can produce surface waterproof effect and reduce moisture absorption. It is permeable, absorbable and able to maintain the natural appearance of the substrate. On the surface of substrate, it forms a layer of insoluble mesh breathable waterproof membrane, providing excellent anti-seepage, moisture resistance, and anti-aging properties.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Silway 714 used for?
It is a water-dilutable potassium methyl siliconate solution used as a high-quality penetrating water repellent for mineral substrates like concrete, bricks, and stones.
How does the waterproof effect work?
It reacts with atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) to form an insoluble, breathable, mesh-like waterproof membrane within the substrate pores.
Does it change the appearance of the building material?
No, it is designed to be colorless and non-yellowing, maintaining the natural look and breathability of the treated surface.
What is the recommended dilution ratio?
It is recommended to dilute the solution to a concentration of 3% or lower. Using a concentration that is too high may result in white residue on the surface.
What are the storage requirements?
It should be stored in closed containers away from fire. The shelf life is 12 months under proper storage conditions.
Is the product environmentally friendly?
Yes, it is a water-based system with low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), making it more environmentally friendly than solvent-based alternatives.
