Product Description

Superplasticizer Concrete Admixture Sodium Naphthalene SNF/SMF

SNF is a high range water reducer, high concentrate naphthalene-based superplasticizer, also named Naphthalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde Condensate (NSF), FDN, PNS, etc. It is made from naphthalene, sulfuric acid, formaldehyde and liquid alkali, through sulfonation, hydrolyzation, condensation and neutralization reaction and then drying to powder.

SNF possesses the features of no retarding, no air-introducing, superplastic high water-reducing and strength enhancing. It has low alkali content, low sulfonate, and high purity. It can be widely used in different concretes with less dosage and easy to use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate (SNF)?
SNF is a high-range water-reducing superplasticizer made from naphthalene, sulfuric acid, and formaldehyde. It is primarily used to improve the workability and strength of concrete.
Q2: What is the typical water reduction rate for SNF?
The water reduction rate for SNF ranges from 15% to 25%, depending on the dosage and specific project requirements.
Q3: Does SNF affect the corrosion of steel reinforcement?
No, SNF is non-corrosive and does not contain ingredients that would harm or corrode steel bars within the concrete structure.
Q4: In which projects is SNF commonly used?
It is widely used in large-scale infrastructure projects such as roads, railways, bridges, tunnels, airports, dams, and high-rise buildings.
Q5: How should the product be stored for maximum shelf life?
It should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse. Keeping it away from moisture is essential to prevent clumping and maintain its effectiveness.
Q6: What is the shelf life of SNF powder?
The minimum shelf life is 12 months. It can often be used beyond this period if the re-testing results meet the required quality standards.
