Hydroxypropyl MethylCellulose (HPMC) is a non-ionic cellulose ether made from natural high polymer cellulose. It is an odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic white powder that dissolves in cold water to form a transparent viscous solution.
It is widely utilized in construction, pharmaceuticals, food, and detergents as a thickener, binder, and water-retention agent. Key properties include thickening, emulsifying, film-forming, and protective colloid capabilities.
